The Maytiv Center for the Study and Application of Positive Psychology was founded in 2010 as an applied and research center for the promotion of optimal human functioning of individuals and groups in Israeli society and around the world, within the framework of the School of Psychology at IDC Herzliya. Positive psychology focuses on identifying factors that moderate emotional distress and increase mental well-being, positive emotions, positive relationships, meaning, achievement and self-realization. The Center was established by Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, an internationally recognized researcher and author in the fields of positive psychology, Dr. Ariel Kor, a researcher in the field of positive psychology and spiritualism and entrepreneur of educational and social programs, Prof. Mario Mikulincer, the founding dean of the School of Psychology at the Interdisciplinary Center Dr. Anat Shoshani, a faculty member at the Interdisciplinary Center, has experience in the development of educational programs in the community, and is a researcher of positive psychology in childhood, and is currently active in a large and diverse range in the education system, business organizations and the community.
